I went to Safeway to use the expiring CAT from CPK pizzas. This was a very confusing transaction. So the cashier explained it this way. I had a just for U personalized deal that made all candy bars ring up at $0.45. Then instead of the B2G2 deal, the candies were ringing at b3g1 and the get 1 took of $0.99 instead of $0.45. So it made out to $0.36 for four candy bars. On the first transaction the candy coupon automatically took off $0.99 when it was scanned in. Then in the second transaction the cashier caught the actually price and took off $0.18 instead. Either way I spend only $0.70 on more than $10 worth of goodies.
Ugh.. sorry you had a hard time. This is why I don't like all the new "digital" coupons and programs. When they don't work like they should, the poor cashiers and managers don't know what to do. Or mistakes get made. I'm not a math whiz and I'm terrible at "on-the-fly" math, especially when I'm at the register. I've heard of the Just for You program, but I don't think we have it here yet. Anyway... good haul for only having paid .70 OOP! :D
